“Design à mão” é uma plataforma online desenvolvida por Rita Botelho para a sua tese de Mestrado na ECAL/Universidade de arte e Design de Lausanne, que funciona como ponto de encontro entre artesãos portugueses e designers portugueses e internacionais que queiram trabalhar em conjunto. Ambos se podem inscrever e submeter projectos que resultem desse tipo de colaboração ou só submeter o seu trabalho individual no caso de quererem colaborar no futuro. Esta plataforma tem como principais objectivos, facilitar o contacto entre artesãos e designers, juntar diferentes gerações e motivar a criação de oportunidades de troca de diferentes técnicas, abordagens de trabalho e projetos inovadores que revitalizem o artesanato português. “Design à mão.01” é a primeira exposição desenvolvida neste projecto e apoiada pela galeria SHOW ME, que tem como objectivo lançar a plataforma online e iniciar uma colecção de objectos que irá crescer no futuro.

“Design à mão” (Design by Hand) is an online platform developed by Rita Botelho for her Master thesis in ECAL/University of Art and Design of Lausanne, that works as a meeting point between Portuguese craftsmen and designers all over the world who want to work together. They can both submit projects that are a result of that sort of collaboration or just submit their individual work in case they want to collaborate in the future. The main goals of this platform are to make the contact between craftsmen and designers easier, to join different generations and motivate the creation of opportunities to exchange different techniques and work approaches in innovative projects that revitalise Portuguese crafts. “Design à mão.01” is the first exhibition developed in this project and supported by the gallery SHOW ME, which has the goal to launch the platform online and initiate an object collection that will grow in the future.
